It is not uncommon to find unexpected items in your astronomical images from time to time.  After all there are hundreds of thousands of solar system objects floating around - asteroids, man-made satellites, comets, etc..  They all move much faster than stars that appear fixed as they as so far away.  Movement can be detected over a period of an hour or two.  You just have to "keep an eye out" for unexpected movement and try to investigate the cause............
Comet Linear C2006-VZ13 flies through the field in 2.5 hours - July 15, 2007 - This was the target not the accident on the imaging that night!
